It looks like Samsung has just added a new Android device it its Galaxy range, with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Xcover which is designed to be a rugged Android smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover is certified by the iP7 standard, which means it is protected from dust, water up to one meter and drops and knocks, and it will come with Android Gingerbread.

The Galaxy Xcover features a 3.65 inch touchscreen display that is covered in scratch resistant and tempered glass, it also features a 3.2 megapixel camera with and LED flash which can also be used as a flashlight.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover will go on sale in Germany in October, there are no details on pricing, and no information on when it will be available in the rest of Europe and the US.
