pureSilicon has this week unveiled their new range of solid state disks in the form of the new Kage 1 Series. The new drives are available as either a USB 3.0 SSD or as a SATA drive.
The Kage K1 SATA SSD is aimed at light enterprise users and
workstations and are equipped with eMLC NAND, read speeds of 540 MB/s
and writes of 520 MB/s. The Kage 1 SATA SSD will ship in capacities of
100GB, 150GB, 200GB, 300GB and 400GB, ranging in price from $975 to
$2575.
The newly unveiled Kage K1 USB drive measures just 4.5mm thick, the
same height as a USB port, and sports a sleek unibody design. Its also
equipped with a SSD controller that allows it to perform 400 MB/s
sequential read speeds. The K1 USB drive will be available in 60GB,
90GB, 120GB, 180GB and 240GB capacities, ranging in price from $230 to
$630.
"The Kage Series devices will appeal to anyone that craves more performance and storage capacity
from their solid-state drive but doesn’t need ruggedized packaging and
advanced security features. We’re particularly proud of the Kage Series
USB, which delivers the essential benefits of an SSD in something the
size of a USB drive, while offering high transfer speeds and 240 GB —
all in killer packaging.”
Both drives are now available to pre-order directly from the
pureSilicon website, and will begin shipping towards the end of this
quarter.
