A new developer board created by Element 14 has arrived on
their website this week which sports a Freescale i.MX6 Quad-core
processor, supported by 1G of 64-bit wide DDR3 @ 532MHz RAM. The ARM
Cortex A9 MPCore 4xCPU Processor, with TrustZone development board is
also fitted with HDMI, LVDS, parallel RGB interface, together with a
touch screen interface.
It also comes equipped
with a hardware accelerated video processing Unit and graphics
processing unit, and comes supplied with a 4GB SD Card preloaded with
TimeSys LinuxLink Embedded Linux image (Kernel v3.0). All for the $179
or £128, Element 14 explains: "The SABRE Lite development
board is a low-cost development platform based on Freescale’s I.MX 6Quad
ARM Cortex-A9 application processor which encompasses a quad-core
platform running up to 1 GHz with 1 MB of L2 cache
and 64-bit DDR3 or 2-ch., 32-bit LPDDR2 support. Integrated FlexCAN,
