Even though Nokia has now partnered with Microsoft to roll out Windows Phone handsets. Nokia has today showed that its ties with the Symbian OS is still alive and well with the launch of three new Nokia smartphones, all running the latest Symbian Belle operating system. In the form of the Nokia 701, 700 and 600 smartphones.

The Symbian Belle operating system has been designed to provide smartphone users more flexibility to personalise their user experience on mobile devices, and will be available as a free update for all users of handsets currently running Symbian Anna. There are a couple of videos after the jump which introduce the new Symbian Belle operating system and some of its features.

Apple has just chalked up a great win in their ongoing battle with Samsung by winning an injunction preventing Samsung to sell their Galaxy S Series smartphones within the EU. The new injunction has been granted by Rechtbank ‘s-Gravenhage, a Dutch court in the city of The Hague.

The court has issued a formally Europe-wide preliminary injunction against Samsung’s Galaxy S, Galaxy S II and Ace smartphones. Following on from a similar injunction granted by a German court a couple of weeks ago.

MetroPCS is a pre-paid carrier that offers service in many areas with no contract. The company has announced that it has landed a new smartphone for users to check out called the Samsung Admire. The Admire is an Android device and it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.


The smartphone has an 800MHz processor and a 3.5-inch touchscreen. The device also has WiFi and a 3.2MP rear camera with video recording capability. This is no top of the line smartphone, but with no need for a contact, it may be appealing to some.

The Admire will work with the MetroPCS unlimited plans. You can order one up for $129.99 and the rate plans for the smartphone are $50 or $60 monthly. This might be a nice smartphone for the person wanting Android on a budget.

If you are the lucky owner of a Nook Color a new update rolling out this week brings with it access to over 200 interactive magazines, optimised for the Nook Color. The new magazines will be available through the Nook Newstand application providing users with access to Time, Fortune, People and Sports Illustrated to name a few.

The Nook optimised editions will provides interactive magazines including audio podcasts, video, photos and animations with in them to the Nook. If you already subscribe to any of the printed editions of the magazines you will be able to access the digital editions at no extra cost.

RIM has announced the launch of three new Blackberry Curve models in the form of the "affordable” Curve 9360, Curve 9350 and Curve 9370. All three new Curve smartphones will run RIM’s next generation BlackBerry 7 OS, which RIM reports is 40 percent quicker than its previous Blackberry 6 OS.

They are also equipped with NFC technology, 5 megapixel cameras – complete flash and video recording, and memory that can be increased when needed to a maximum of 32GB. The handsets will also be running the latest Facebook 2.0 application which includes Facebook Chat, together with a newly updated Blackberry Messenger.

Following on from its recently launched new range of smartphones RIM is now looking to revamp its BlackBerry App World software and will be launching a newly updated version on August 22nd. Blackberry App World 3.0 will include a new storefront enabling users to be able to find and purchase apps , games and themes with ease.


New features have also been added to help you manage your applications. When you download an app, it will now be stored digitally in ­your own personal storage folder called My World. You can then retrieve the application at a later date or install it easily on a new Blackberry device which any additional cost.

Sony has unveiled details of its new "Live with Walkman” Android phone running Gingerbread 2.3 as its operating system. The "Live with Walkman” smartphone has been designed and created by Sony to provide a unique social music experience to users. Equipped with deep Facebook integration which allows you to access your Facebook pages via the phones picture gallery, music player, phonebook and calendar, and include a Facebook music recommendations feature.

Its also fitted with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display plus a 5 megapixel camera with a 8x zoom feature, auto focus and face detection, as well as GEO tagging and HD video recording (720p).

After rolling out their Bootloader Unlock Tool for their HTC Sensation to European users, HTC has now rolled out a new Evo 3D Bootloader Unlock Tool to the US. The new bootloader unlock tool update was announced on the HTC Facebook page and is now available for the EVO 3D for Sprint.


HTC explained via their Facebook page:

We’re pleased to share that the EVO 3D for Sprint unlock process is now available. It requires a software update, so please update your phone via the "About Phone” menu before starting the process. Please check HTCDev.com for updates, as well as a detailed explanation of the unlock process.

If you have been patiently waiting for the arrival of  Windows Phone Mango, you will be pleased to know that a Fujitsu IS12T device may now available to pre-order and is hoped will start shipping on August 25th.

The Fujitsu IS12T Windows Phone 7.5 Mango was spotted on a display stand in the Biccamera Yurakucho Tokyo store, but it is thought that these devices might be dummy devices. If true the new Fujitsu IS12T will be the first Windows Phone running the new Mango operating system that was first unveiled by Microsoft last October. Even though the new Window Phone Mango update and device were officially expected to land sometime inSeptember.

Ozaki have unveiled a rather unique iPhone charger and speaker dock called the iSuppli Gramo. The design for the compact speaker dock has been taken from the old gramophone record players of the last century.

The iSuppli Gramo can either be used with or without power. But if you need to charge your iPhone or would like to use the integrated amplified speaker features of the docking station you will need  a power connection.

 


The iSuppli Gramo is a one-piece design and is available in either black, white or red and is now available to purchase from the Audiocubes website for $70.
