Why hasn’t anyone thought of these before? Actually yeah, USB ‘clips’ came
to our attention many moons ago. Maybe because USBs are so ubiquitous
that people have just stopped designing out of the box. Anyway, seen
below are 4GB USBs whose cases are fashioned after paperclips. It’s
sensible for most work places as digital and paper files still coexist. A
cool thing about them is they can be clipped onto other edges, whether
it’s your neck tie or a business card.
The newest line of Data Clips were designed by Japanese firm Nendo for Elecom, who specialize in peripheral gadgets.
As the pic indicates, the Data Clips come in a variety of soft colors. A
subtle design feature of theirs is the underside has small ridges that
allow for a keener finger grip. This seems to be a major consequence of
steadily shrinking USBs; they’re sometimes so small you can barely pull
them out of a port.
The Data Clip line has already entered production and will be
released throughout Japan sometime this month. No retail price is
available either.
