One of the features that many people would like to see in Apple’s MacBook Pro is a built in 3G modem, Apple has yet to release a MacBook Pro with built in 3G, and now a prototype MacBook Pro with built in 3G has turned up on eBay.
The prototype MacBook Pro is a 15 inch model from 2007, so at least
we know Apple has been working on built in 3G for the MacBook Pro,
although we do wonder why they haven’t released one as yet, the photos
below show it has a built in 3G antenna and a 3G SIM card slot.
According to the seller the MacBook Pro works, but the 3G data
connection doesn’t, we wonder how long this listing will stay up on eBay
before Apple gets it taken down.
This leaves us with the question that if Apple were working on a 3G MacBook Pro back in 2007, why now 4 years later have they not released a MacBook Pro with built in 3G.
