Active Media Products
has a new line of upgrade SSDs that come in upgrade kits with all you
need to get your data from your old drive to the new one. The SSD
upgrade kits are made to fit just about any notebook that uses the
1.8-inch ZIF interface for storage. That includes the first gen MacBook
Air and a number of other notebooks.
The SSD upgrade kits include the SSD, cloning device, a screwdriver and the instructions. The SSD kits come with 64GB SSD for $169, a 128GB SSD
will cost you $289, and the 256GB SSD will sell for $739. The SSDs all
have the same performance with 130MB/sec transfer speeds.
The cloning adapter that the SSD ships with is a USB cable that
allows you to transfer all your data over to the new SSD with minimal
hassle. Availability for the SSD upgrade kits is unknown at this time.
"Our cloning adapter will help customers get up and running that much
faster because now they don’t need to reinstall the OS and all their
applications. We included a detailed installation guide and a mini
screwdriver in the box to simplify the upgrade process,” stated Active
Media Products VP of Sales, Jerry Thomson. AMP does not include a USB
cable or cloning software in these kits. |
