if you are looking for a laptop that will take a few knock and drops through its life then the new ShieldPRO N22G just unveiled by NEC might well be worth a look. Its equipped with a casing that protects it from temperatures of -20 to 50 degrees Celsisus. Together with "complete protection” from dust and sand and the ability to survive drops from a height of 90cm on to hard concrete.

The ShieldPRO N22G is equipped with Core i7-660UE (1.33GHz) and 4GB RAM with 160GB of HDD as well as an optional 32GB SSD, a 12.1” XGA screen, SD Slot, PCMCIA, USB, FireWire, WiFi, Gigabit, Bluetooth.

NEC also says that their new rugged ShieldPRO N22G can provide you with around 12 hours of battery life on a full charge. The ShieldPRO N22G measures 290×255×47mm, and weighs 2.7kg.
