If when you think of a pocket watch you picture a gold coloured circular styled victorian timepiece, it might be time to have a rethink. After feasting your eyes on this modern take ofthe traditional pocket watch in the form of the awesome Urwerk UR-1001.

The Urwerk UR-1001 has been constructed out of a single block of metal, and the complications within the watch enable it to track time from second to a 1000 years.

On the rear of the watch a flap folds down to reveal a counter that is counting down the next 1000 years, together with a slightly quicker 100 year count down timer. There is also a maintenance dial that indicates when the watch needs a service or an oil change, normally every three years.
