LG has unveiled this week that its line of 3D Smart TVs arriving in
2012 will be equipped with Intel’s WiDi technology. Enabling owners to
be able to stream high quality content from tablets, phones and
computers. When using the new WiDi streaming technology no connection to
a router is required, with media being able to be streamed directly from device to device.
LG Home’s Seog-ho Ro explained:
"Through this strategic alliance, Cinema 3D Smart TV users will
be able to access a wider variety of content in a more convenient
manner,”
"Intel WiDi will be one of several features that will enhance the
user convenience of our Cinema 3D Smart TVs, further differentiating
our products from the competition.”
The new LG Cinema 3D Smart TV sets with integrated WiDi will be
showcased at CES 2012 next month. But unfortunately no information on
pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet, but as soon
as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
