Some of our readers will remember Fusion Garage,
the company behind the JooJoo tablet that didn’t do so well, it looks
like they are back with a new OS, new tablet and a new smartphone.
Fusion Garage are launching the Grid OS, and the Grid 10 tablet, plus
the Grid 4 smartphone, and they describe Grid OS as an operating system
with a difference.
Grid OS is basically a continuous grid, and it will run Android apps,
and has been built on top of Android, and according to Fusion Garage,
Android apps will run on the Grid OS out of the box without any further
need for development.
The Grid 10 tablet features a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen
display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, processing is provided
by a dual core 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and it also comes with
512MB of RAM.
There is a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, a pair of speakers, a
3.5mm audio jack, a microphone, and a microSd card slot, it also comes
with 16GB of storage built in, plus Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR and WiFi.
There will be two models, a WiFi only model which will retail for
$499 and a WiFi and 3G model which will retail for $599 it will be
available from the 15th of September.
Next up is the Grid 4 smartphone which comes with a 4 inch capacitive
touchscreen display withh a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, processing
is provided by a Qualcomm MSM8255 processor and there is 512MB of RAM.
It also runs the new Grid OS and will run Android applications, it
features a 5 megapixel camera on the back with an LED flash which can
record HD video in 720p and a 0.3 megapixel camera for video chat up
front.
The Grid 4 smartphone also comes with 16GB of storage built in plus a
microSd card slot and a 1300 mAh battery, it will go on sale for $399
SIM free, there are no details on the launch date as yet.
