This week in Japan Sharp has unveiled a new tablet named the Sharp RW-T107 which comes complete with a near field communication reader (NFC). The NFC reader which is thought to be the first to be integrated in to a tablet, can be used in stores to read membership cards, IDs, loyalty cards, special offer coupons and more.

As well as the unique NFC reader the new tablet runs Android Gingerbread and is equipped with a 7 inch touchscreen together with microUSB, headphone jack and HDMI connections and a SIM card slot.

Currently the new Sharp RW-T107 Android Tablet is only being released in Japan and Sharp have not divulged if the tablet will make it any further at the current time. 5,000 Sharp RW-T107 units will be arriving in Japan on the 6th September, unfortunately no detailed specifications or prices have yet been unveiled by Sharp.
