Microsoft has this week started rolling out new commercials for its Windows 8 operating system which will be launching towards the end of this month on October 26th 2012. The
first commercial to be rolled out by Microsoft has been set to the tune
by the Eagles of Death Metal "Only Want You,” which you can view after
the break.
The commercial is a little reminiscent of those that launched Windows 95 and includes a brief look at the new Windows 8 start screen.
Microsoft has developed a new Windows8 operating system to be used on
both desktop PC systems and also mobile hardware such as tablets.

As the October 26th 2012 launch date for Windows 8 approaches, you
can expect lots of new information, about Microsoft’s latest Windows 8
operating system to be released. Today Amazon has rolled out new
product listings for the range of Windows 8 software options that will
be available to consumers from this months official launch date onwards.
A listing on the Amazon website indicates that Windows 8 Standard Edition to Windows 8 Pro Edition will be offering product keys in retail packaging at launch, with no disc required to upgrade to the Windows 8 Pro edition. Unfortunately

S. Somasegar, Corporate Vice President of the Developer Division at
Microsoft has this week announced and introduced a new programming
language called Typescript. Which Microsoft has designed to
take JavaScript development scale beyond the client, and make it even
easier to create large-scale JavaScript applications.

and see it in action, with Anders Hejlsberg introducing the new features
of Typescript. "TypeScript syntax includes several proposed
features of Ecmascript 6 (ES6), including classes and modules.
TypeScript also provides to JavaScript programmers a system of optional
type annotations. These type annotations are like the JSDoc comments
found in the Closure system, but in TypeScript they are integrated
directly into the language syntax.”

We know that Microsoft intends to launch Windows 8 some time in the fall of 2012, and we recently heard that Lenovo intends to be one of the first manufacturers to launch a Windows 8 Tablet, with a rumored launch date of October.

more evidence has been revealed which would point to October being the

Earlier this week Microsoft released the first Consumer Preview of
Windows 8, and now we have some more information on Microsoft’s next generation operating system. It looks like there will be a total of nine different versions of Windows 8 available, which include a couple of versions of the basic, home, professional and enterprise editions.

It may just be a consumer preview, but Windows 8 is proving to be a
much anticipated operating system with a million downloads on the first
day of its release.
The number of downloads is not exactly record-shattering but it clearly shows that many are looking forward to try out the new OS that will soon find its way into future devices, especially tablets.
Expect many feedback in the coming days as more people install the
consumer preview. Early reviews have generally given Windows 8 a thumbs up,
but the final verdict will of course come from the millions of
consumers as they give Windows 8

Over the weekend Microsoft rolled out a new design for their Windows 8
operating system, which has now dropped the multicolour design for a
single colour.The new Windows 8 operating system that will incorporate
the new Metro, tiled navigation interface, has now received its new
logo. Which is reminiscent of Microsoft’s Windows 1.0 logo, and is
light blue in colour, rather than multicoloured. providing a
fresh,clean and simply logo for the new operating system when it’s
officially launched later this year. Even if it does look a little like a

It’s been revealed by Brazilian site Gemind that Microsoft’s new SkyDrive cloud service, will soon be launching applications on both Windows and OS X, and will include paid storage solutions for customers.
The
screenshot leaked by Gemind shows and array of options ranging from
20GB, 50GB, or 100GB that will be priced at $10, $25, or $50 per year.
Which is very competitive when compared to similar services offering
cloud file storage and backup services, such as Dropbox who currently
offers $9.99 for 50Gb up to 100GB for $19.99 both on a monthly basis.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Skype in October pointed to an upcoming
app for Windows Phone, not to mention Microsoft executive Joe Belfiore’s
statement that a native Skype application will be ready for Windows Phone in Fall of 2011. Fast forward to present day and the Skype app
for the platform remains to be seen. This time it’s Skype
vice-president of products Rock Osterloh’s turn to comment on the
integration of Skype to Windows Phone and he was quick to add the app is
"coming out soon” in a CES interview.
Osterloh noted that Skype will not only be integrated to Windows
Phone but also to other products such as Windows 8, Xbox 360 and
Microsoft Lync. He refused to give further details on what kind of
integration they are working on.

The other day OnLive announced a new application for the iPad, the OnLive Desktop, which is a cloud based app that will let you run a Windows 7 desktop on your Apple iPad. OnLive
has now released the app and it is available to download for the iPad
from the US iTunes store, at the time of writing it only seems to be
available in the US store at the moment.
The OnLive Desktop app will let you run a number of Windows applications on your iPad, like Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and all the applications are run from the cloud. The
service is free at the moment and you get 2GB of storage, OnLive will
be launching a pro version in the future which will come with 50GB of
storage and more applications they expect to charge around $9.99 a month
