We first heard about the new Asus Memo Pad 10 last month, and now it would appear that some actual press photos of the Memo Pad 10 have been leaked, which you can see below.

The Asus Memo Pad 10 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and will be powered by a quad core 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, and will features 1GB of RAM.



Other specifications on the Asus Memo Pad 10 include 16GB of built in storage, a 5 megapixel rear camera for photos and video and a front facing 1.2 megapixel camera for video chat.

We have already featured the BlueStacks range of applications here on Geeky Gadgets, which have been designed to allow you to run Android applications on Windows and Mac operating systems.

But if you are looking to run Windows applications on Android you might be interested in a new report that suggests the popular Wine compatibility layer that allows Windows apps to run on other operating systems.

We have been hearing some rumors for a while that the next major release of Google’s mobile OS will be Android 5.0 and it will be called Key Lime Pie, and now references to Key Lime Pie have appeared in some leaked documents from Qualcomm.

The leaked documents were originally posted online by Android Police, who have now removed them at the request of Qualcomm, and they showed a release date for Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie of the Spring.


Google are holding their I/O Developer Conference in May of this year, and we are expecting them to officially announce Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.

Microsoft will start selling their new Surface Pro tablet on the 9th of February, and now it would appear that the device has turned up in some retail stores a little earlier than expected.

Unfortunately you will not be able to purchase the device until the 9th of February, when it will go on sale in Microsoft stores, Best Buy and Staples in the US.


There will be two models of the Surface Pro available at launch, the 64GB Microsoft Surface Pro will retail for $899 and the 128GB Surface Pro will retail for $999.

A while back we heard that LG Display was suing Samsung regarding the technology used in Samsung’s OLED displays, and now it would appear that the two companies have decided to settle their differences.

There are no details on what sort of settlement has been reached between LG Display and Samsung regarding the patent disputes related to OLED displays.


LG were previously seeking an injunction against a number of Samsung devices which included the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Samsung Galaxy Note, and Samsung were also looking to sue LG Display.

Huawei announced their new 6.1 inch Android smartphone, the Huawei Ascend Mate back in January at CES, and now it would appear we may have some pricing details on the device.

Huawei will be selling the unlocked version of the Ascend Mate in China for the equivalent of $575, although it looks like the device will not be headed to the US in the future.


The Huawei Ascend Mate features a massive 6.1 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, there is also a quad core 1.5GHx processor and a massive 4,050 mAh battery.

Other specifications on the Huawei Ascend Mate include an 8 megapixel rear camera for photo and video and a front facing 1 megapixel camera for video chat.

BLU Products has unveiled a range of new Quattro Smartphones which are equipped with Nvidia’s Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processors, and comes supplied running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system.

However BLU Products plans to release an update to make it possible for the devices to run Google’s latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.


All the Quattro Smartphone range will include connectivity via quad-band GSM and penta-band 21Mbps HSPA+, including 1700MHz AWS for the US, and will all be available unlocked as with other smartphones released by BLU Products.

Being a researcher trapped in the cold and desolate Arctic just got a little more bearable. The newly designed Halley VI Antarctic research station will open next week and it has some cool features. Since fixed structures typically struggle on the frigid continent due to moving ice and the threat of snow-burial, it can move.


Using legs. That’s right, the Halley VI has extendable legs that allow it to keep rising above snow level and it can be towed to a new location as needed. There are eight pods which connect together, each is a research area slash living quarters.

The larger, central red cabin is a communal living area that can use specially selected shades, has a climbing wall and a herb garden, Pretty awesome habitat.

We have a strong suspicion that HTC will launch its flagship M7 Android smartphone on February 19, but now it looks like the M7 may not be the only device making its debut at the show. UnwiredView has learned that two new devices called the M4 and G2 could either be unveiled at the February 19 event or during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later in the month.


The HTC M4 looks like it comes with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 4.3-inch screen, a 13-megapixel camera, a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera, a 1,700mAh battery with Android Jelly Bean installed.

Resident Evil: Revelations producer Masachika Kawata thinks one of the reasons for the recent decline of the Resident Evil franchise might be the glut of titles over the past two years. The latest title Revelations, though already out on 3DS, will soon be joining the coolly received sixth entry in the main series on home consoles. Other games in the series The Mercenaries 3D and Operation Raccoon City are also recent releases.


"I think certainly looking at the last year or two, there probably were a few too many,” Masachika Kawata said. According to him, Capcom "learned last year that putting on a lot of titles would not necessarily win over gamers.”

HTC’s new flagship Android smartphone which we have seen leaked over the last few weeks is rumored to be called the HTC M7, and now we have confirmation that this will be the devices name from HTC’s CEO Peter Chou.
The video below shows the HTC CEO at the HTC year end party chanting the words ‘HTC M7′, so we guess that is pretty good confirmation that the HTC M7 actually exists.

Samsung are expected to announce a number of new Galaxy Tab 3 tablets at Mobile World Congress later this month, and now one has turned up in the GLBenchmark, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 GT-P3200.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 GT-P3200 will come with Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, this is the 7 or 8 inch model of the new Galaxy Tab 3, which is rumored to come with a HD display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.



It isn’t clear as yet exactly what the screen size will be on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 GT-P3200, there are rumors that Samsung will drop the 7 inch display and go for a slightly larger 8 inch display for this years new model.

After being leaked a little earlier than expected, HP has now officially launched their new HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook, which is now available to purchase for $330.

The new HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook is equipped with a 1,366 x 768 resolution display, and is equipped with 16GB of internal storage, but also comes with 100GB of Google Drive space, which is free to owners for the first 2 years.



The latest addition to the Chrome range of hardware in the form of the HP Pavilion 14 Chromebook, is powered by a Dual-core Intel Celeron Processor, and comes equipped with 3 x USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port and 2-in-1 memory card slot (SD, MMC).

If you enjoy creating 3D computer models and scenes, you might interested in a new project which has launched over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website this week called the Lynx A Camera.
