We have heard previously that the Samsung Illusion is headed to Verizon Wireless, and now Samsung has posted a photo of the Verizon Samsung Illusion on Flickr, which you can see below.

We don’t have any official specifications on the Samsung Illusion as yet, although it is rumored to come with either an 800MHz or 1GHz processor, a HVGA display and either a five or three megapixel camera.

The Samsung Illusion is expected to be a budget Android device which will probably retail for around $100 when it lands on Verizon, and we suspect it will be officially announced within the next few weeks.

We have been hearing more and more about the Samsung produced Google Nexus Prime over the last few weeks, and now it would appear that the Google Nexus Prime may become available from Verizon Wireless on the 3rd of November.

The Google Nexus Prime will be the first smartphone to come with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and it is expected to feature a dual core TI OMAP 4460 processor plus an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a front facing 2 megapixel camera.

Google’s Eric Schmidt mentioned recently that Android Ice Cream Sandwich would launch some time in October or November, so the 3rd of November launch date for the Nexus Prime on Verizon sounds about right.

Take your average touch screen, multiply it, then combine both screens into one phone. The designers didn’t bother with the engineering part, however, so their concept has to be taken on blind faith that it’s awesome. According to the available concept illustrations, each touchscreen are independent wireless devices that can be separated or opened like a book. Wenhing Chou and Kok Keong Wong might be onto something.

This is the reason why design remains an appealing career. Designers aren’t often put to task for their creation’s lack of engineering. The results are sometimes startling, sometimes ludicrous to a hilarious degree. (No names though.)

To bother trying to make the Space 3 phon ... Read more »

We were expecting Nokia to debut their first Windows Phone 7 device before the end of this year, now it would appear that the first Nokia Windows Phone 7 device may not launch  until the first quarter of 2012.

The guys from WP7R spoke to someone from Nokia, and were told that the first Windows Phone 7 smartphone from Nokia wont launch in Australia until quarter one of 2012.

We won’t be releasing a Nokia on Windows Phone until Q1 of next year. Can’t be more specific than that sorry!

It isn’t clear as yet whether this statement applies to Australia only, or whether the rest of us in Europe and the US will also have to wait until next year to get our hands on the first Windows Phone Nokia smartphone.
