Avis, the car rental company has made another acquisition, this time it is the car sharing network Zipcar, in a deal which is reported to be worth $500 million, and the purchase, according to Avis is at a 50 percent premium over the closing price of Zipcar in December.

Zipcar was founded back in 2000, and has around 767,000 members and 11,000 vehicles throughout the US and Canada, the UK, Spain and Austria, obviously Avis will be looking to expand the service to more countries.

We have not featured many hovercraft here on Geeky Gadgets, but the new design created by the engineers at Mercier-Jones looks more like something that Batman would driver, rather than a traditional hovercraft.

The new Mercier-Jones Hovercraft has taken design cues from a number of supercars and Mercier-Jones have equipped the new vehicle with a new directional control system which has been designed to make driving a hovercraft as easy to drive as a car.

Tomb Raider fans looking forward to the latest reboot of the franchise of the action-adventure platform video game currently being developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix. Ahead of CES next week Samsung has announced two new monitors which have been designed to provide users with touchscreen technology optimised for Microsoft’s new Windows 8 operating system.

The two new additions include the Series 7 Touch (SC770) and the Series 7 (SC750). The Series 7 Touch (SC770) is 24 inch in size, and the first Samsung has created specifically for Windows 8 touch gestures, supporting up to 10 points of simultaneous multi-touch.


The touchscreen monitor provide users with a resolution of 1,920 x 1080 together with 178 degree viewing angles, and an adjustable stand for perfect positioning up to 60 degrees.
