We have featured a number of different electric powered cars here at
Geeky Gadgets, but is think this may be the first electric powered car
ferry, which has been developed by Seimens and Norwegian shipyard
The electric powered car ferry will measure 80 meters long and will
be capable of carrying up to 120 cars and 360 passengers, and will start
carrying passengers in 2015.
The ferry will be powered by batteries, which will be recharged in
breaks between crossings, and will apparently take just 10 minutes to
recharge the ferry ready for its next journey.
During CES last week Viewsonic unveiled a trio of touchscreen
monitors designed specifically to be used with Microsoft’s latest
Windows 8 operating system.
The three new Viewsonic monitors take the form of the TD2340, TD2740
and TD3240 which are all scratch resistant, 10-point Windows 8 certified

Following on from the CCP announcement last week, which started to
merge the closed beta Dust 514 test servers with Eve Online game
servers. CCP has this week announced the Dust 514 open beta release
date of January 22nd 2013.
Dust 514 a PS3 exclusive game when launched will be a free-to-play first-person shooter

We do not have much longer to wait to see RIM’s new BlackBerry 10 smartphones, which will launch on the 30th of January along with the new BlackBerry 10 OS, we have already seen a number of leaked photos and now we have some press shots of the handset.
These latest photos show a black and white version of the new
BlackBerry Z10, which is rumored to comes with a 4.2 inch display with a
resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and a dual core Snapdragon processor.

Apple recently launched the new iPad
Mini, along with the iPad 4 back in October, and now according to a
recent report by Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White, Apple are
looking to release new models of each device in March.
March would be the one year anniversary of the launch of the iPad 3, and Apple normally releases their new iPad in March, although we saw the slightly updated iPad 4 in October.
Our checks at CES indicate Apple will release the iPad 5 and the
second-generation iPad mini this March. The iPad 5 is expected to be
lighter and thinner than the iPad 4 that was released in October, while
the form factor of the iPad mini should be similar to the first
generation iPad mini that debuted in October.

US mobile carrier AT&T has announced the availability of the
Lenovo Idea Tab A2107 on their network, the device is available for $99
with a data contract with AT&T or for $199 without a contract.
The Lenovo Idea Tab A2107 features a 7 inch display with a resolution
of 1024 x 600 pixels and processing is provided by a dual core Cortex
A9 processor, there is also 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of built in storage.

If you are in the market for a 3D projector you might be interested to learn that BenQ has unveiled two new additions to its range of projectors at CES last week, in the form of the W1070 and W1080ST.
BenQ’s new projectors start $1,099 for the W1070 which provides full
HD 1080p 3D projection using the high-end DLP Dark Chip 3
(DC3)technology, which is typically reserved for higher-priced models.
Where as the BenQ W1080ST projector has been designed to provide a
short-throw full HD1080p 3D home projector for only $1,299, allowing

We have bean hearing about Asus’s MeMo Pad Android tablet for quite some time now, Asus has now officially announced the Memo Pad and it will be available later this month for $149.99.
The Asus MeMo Pad will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and it
features a 1GHZ VIA WM8950 processor and a Mali-400 GPU, plus a 7 inch
display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.
Other specifications on the Asus Memo Pad include 16GB of built in
storage plus a microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB cards, there
is also a front facing 1MP back illuminated camera with an f/2.0 lens
which can capture HD video in 720p at 30 frames per second.
The Asus Memo Pad will be available in a range of colors later this month and will retail for $150.
Nokia has launched a new Windows Phone smartphone in Mexico, the Nokia Lumia 505, and the device is available exclusively through mobile carrier Telcel, the handset features similar specifications to the Lumia 510.
The Nokia Lumia 505 comes with a 3.7-inch AMOLED display with a a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and it comes with Windows Phone 7.8 instead of the latest Windows Phone 8.
Other specifications on the Nokia Lumia 505 include 256MB of internal memory and 4GB of on-board storage. plus and 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, Bluetooth 2.1 support, and a 1300 mAh battery.
