A new rugged and ultraportable speaker called the Boombot REX has started its journey over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website this month.

The Boombot REX has been created to include revolutionary acoustic and industrial design, together with a noise-cancelling microphone and a built-in clip. Watch the video after the jump to see the Boombot REX in action.

Using Bluetooth technology to make a connection the Boombot REX has been designed to connect to iPods, smartphones, tablets, and laptops to stream audio when required.

The Boombot REX is also waterproof, and equipped with high power dual drivers and a bass woofer, and has been cretaed by Boombotix who explain:
