One of the more common bits of technology in the smartphone world that the iPhone is still missing is near field
communication. NFC technology allows many of the smartphones on the
market to automatically pair with accessories and share content with
compatible devices by simply tapping them together. Apple has yet to
include NFC technology in its iPhone.
The case is now launched called the CalypsoKey that brings NFC technology to the iPhone via a case. The case has a dual band antenna
on the inside that allows it to work with almost all common RFID and

Yesterday we heard that HTC are holding a press event on the 19th of
February, the week before Mobile World Congress, where they are expected
to announced the new HTC M7, and now it looks like we may have a possible HTC M7 release date.
According to HTCSource, HTC will start selling their new HTC M7 on
the 8th of March, this is apparently the European release date for the
HTC M7, as yet we do not have any information on the US release date.
The HTC M7 is rumored to come with a 4.7 inch full HD display with a
1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, plus Android Jelly Bean, and a quad core
1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.

Sony
recently announced their new Flagship Android smartphone, the Sony
Xperia Z, and now it would appear that we may have a possible launch
date for the device, at least in Japan.
According to Yodobashi Camera
in Japan, Sony will launch the new Xperia Z on the 9th of February,
this date has yet to be confirmed by Sony and it is not clear whether
this would be a Japan only release date or a worldwide release date.
The Sony Xperia Z features a quad core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB of RAM, there is also a 5 inch full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.

Smartphone companion watches or smartwatches as they are sometimes
known, are becoming more and more popular as an extension of your
smartphone, allowing you to keep track of important notifications from your phone on your wrist.

Huawei are expected to reveal a number of new smartphones at next month Mobile World Congress,
one of those is the new Huawei Ascend P2 and now it would appear that
we have a photo of the handset along with some specifications.
The Huawei Ascend P2 is rumored to feature a 4.5 inch display with a
full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, it will be powered by a quad core
processor possibly with a 1.8GHz clock speed, and will come with 2GB of

Acer has announced the launch of a new Android smartphone, the Acer
Liquid E1 which will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and features a 4.5
inch qHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.
The Acer Liquid E1 is powered by a dual core 1GHz processor and
features 1GB of RAM, there is also 4GB of built in storage and it has
dual cameras with a front facing 0.3 megapixel camera for video chat.
On the back of the device is a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and an LED flash, plus it comes with a microSD card slot for expansion, Bluetooth 3.0 +EDR, an FM receiver, A-GPS and WiFi.

There have been a number of rumors about Samsung’s Galaxy S4 smartphone over the last few days, we are expecting the Samsung Galaxy S4 to go on sale in April, and it is possible that Samsung will announced their new Galaxy S4 at a Samsung Unpacked event on the 22nd of March.
Now a possible render 0f the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been discovered online, the photo below was uploaded to Picasa back in December, with the description of ‘Galaxy S IV GT-I900 Product Image’.
The photo was uploaded by a student from Hong Kong, so we are not
sure if this is actually an official photo from Samsung or a possible
mock up of what the Samsung Galaxy S4 will look like, still it looks

Owners of existing Windows Phone devices, which run Windows Phone 7.5 are patiently waiting for the release of the Windows Phone 7.8 update, and now it looks like we are getting closer to its release.
Microsoft
has released the Windows Phone 7.8 Software Development Kit (SDK) for
developers, and it is now available to download, as yet we still do not
have an official release date for the software update for existing
handsets.
There have been rumors that Microsoft will start rolling out the
Windows Phone 7.8 software update to existing handsets on the 31st of
January, this date has yet to be confirmed by Microsoft, as soon as we
get some more information we will let you guys know.

When Nokia
announced their 808 PureView smartphone they also said that they would
use the technology in future devices, and we have been waiting to find
out about Nokia’s first Lumia smartphone that would feature their
PureView camera technology.
Now according to a recent report, Nokia are working on a new Lumia
Windows Phone smartphone that will incorporate their PureView
technology, the device is rumored to come with the EOS name.
The Nokia Lumia EOS will be a high end Windows Phone handset, that
will feature an aluminum casing, and it will apparently be headed to US mobile provider AT&T later in the year.
