Smartphone companion watches or smartwatches as they are sometimes known, are becoming more and more popular as an extension of your smartphone, allowing you to keep track of important notifications from your phone on your wrist.

Now a new device has joined the smartwatch ranks called the WiMe NanoWatch which can be used as a phone or linked to your smartphone, similar to the Pebble smartwatch which recently started shipping.

The new $99 WiMe NanoWatch Phone is equipped with a 1.54 inch, 240 x 240 pixel resistive touchscreen display, and runs on an embedded Linux-based operating system, supported by 256MB of ROM and 2GB of storage.

The WiMe NanoWatch is also equipped with a microUSB port, FM radio tuner, voice recorder, and supports Bluetooth 2.1, GSM and GRPS networks, and includes a SIM card slot. Watch the video below to learn more about the WiMe NanoWatch Phone project and see it in action.
