One of the biggest names in the projection TV market has always been Mitsubishi. In years past, there were other names in the market including Sony and Samsung, but those two companies long ago abandoned rear projection TV fans. The lone holdout for all these years has been Mitsubishi offering a full line of big-screen rear projection TVs.
Mitsubishi has now announced that it plans to discontinue its line of
rear-projection TVs. Consumers have increasingly gone to LCD and plasma
TV screens with even plasma TVs slowly going extinct. Mitsubishi
offered rear projection TVs of 70 inches and over in size.
The TVs were far from inexpensive suggested with prices of around
$6000. Mitsubishi TVs used DLP technology and the company is vacating
the rear projection TV market focus on other products such as projectors

University of Waterloo neuroscientist Chris Eliasmith has spent many
years figuring out just how to build a brain. Using his own brain of
course, which is far more clever than yours or mine. Now he has compiled
his thoughts in a book that comes with instructions. Eliasmith’s team
has created Spaun, which is described as "the world’s largest simulation
of a functioning brain.”
That isn’t hype. It really is a simulation of a functioning brain. It
can recognize numbers, take notes of lists and remembering them while
writing them down. It can even pass some basic hurdles in an IQ test.
It took more than a year to build, and it can simulate many aspects of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and psychological behavior. It will be interesting to see what becomes of this in say, five years.<
