After only launching their new monthly payments subscription as a
trail service for Amazon Prime on November 6th 2012, Amazon has today
announced that the trial will be closing, and the monthly pay option
will no longer be available for prime customers.
The handy monthly Amazon Prime
subscription service enable people to pay a set $7.99 a month with a
slight premium, rather than the yearly subscription of $79.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed to AllThingsD: "We regularly test
new options for our customers. At this time, we’ve completed our test
and are no longer signing up new customers for Amazon Prime monthly
memberships.”

This week Asus has rolled out updates to its range of Eee Box desktop computer systems, unveiling their Asus Eee Box EB1505 and Asus Eee Box EB1035 systems with Microsoft’s latest Windows 8 operating system and upgraded processors.
The Asus EB1505 is now powered by a 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron 847 Sandy
Bridge processor, support by up to 4GB of RAM, up to a 500GB hard drive,
with other options including WiFi, Ethernet, connectivity, and VGA,
HDMI port to name just a few.
The Asus EB1035 measures just 1.15 inches thick, and is powered by an
Intel Celeron 847 processor, with the same specifications as the above
EB1505. However the EB1505 can be equipped with a DVD or Blu-Ray drive,
but the Asus EB1035 has no disc drive at all.

Anyone who owns a Raspberry Pi mini computer, and would like to build
their own version of Google’s Project Glass, might be interested in the
wearable computer which has been created by Instructables contributor
meztek. Meztek has taken a Raspberry Pi mini computer running
Raspbian Linux, together with a pair of display glasses in the form of
the Vuzix Wrap 920, together with a custom-built battery pack running on
2 x AA batteries.
The
wearable computer was created as an entry into the Raspberry Pi Speed
Challenge, and Raspberry Pi says that they were "really impressed by the
quality of the projects that came in, and we had so many standout

It’s not unusual to see cars getting blown up in big budget movies–
when you mix explosives with high-end sports cars you expect some really
beautiful automobiles to meet a fiery end. Many filmakers use computer
effects to make things look good without actually having to blow
$100,000+ cars up, but not the special effects crew who worked on the
latest James Bond movie, Skyfall.
To save money and preserve a classic automobile the team built three models using a 3D printer. A company called Voxeljet managed to create three highly detailed, 1:3 scale models of Bond’s 1960 Aston Martin DB5. The DB5 first appeared in Goldfinger
