The last thing we heard about the Sony PlayStation Vita was that it would go on sale in Japan before Christmas, and the rest of us would have to wait until 2012 for it to launch in Europe and the US.
Now Amazon
has put the PlayStation Vita up for pre-order and they have listed a
shipping date of the 31st of December, although we haven’t heard
anything new from Sony on the US and European launch dates.
The Sony PlayStation
Vita features a 5 inch multi-touch OLED display, plus a multi-touch pad
on the rear, there are also two analog sticks on the front.
The PS Vita also comes with front and rear cameras,
and it will be available as a WiFi only model and also a WiFi and 3G
model, the WiFi only model will retail for $249.99 whilst the WiFi and
3G model will retail for $299.99.

It’s a mighty fine piece of work. last time a Pip-Boy 3000 was featured here at Geeky Gadgets
it was basically a modded iPod Touch. This is different though. A
semi-instructional vid is available on Youtube (watch it after the jump)
and the mad skills it took to build a knock off like this is
commendable. User MyMagicPudding, we salute you! If only there was a
wasteland where you could actually take the real life Pip Boy 3000.
Take note that what’s pictured above is an in-game Pip Boy 3000. For
the actual build, check the video down south and marvel at the accuracy
of MyMagicPudding’s craftmanship.
Not to come off as too pedantic but for those not in the know the
Pip-Boy is a mainstay in the Fallout series, being a gadget familiar to
Vault Dwellers, and is basically an interface that lets the player
improve their game. It’s also a huge repository for all th

We know both Sony
and Microsoft are working on their next generation consoles, although
we have no idea when either company intends to launch their new games consoles.
Now, according to a recent report, Sony may end up launching the new PlayStation 4 within the next 18 months, although Sony have yet to confirm this as yet.
Sony originally had a 10 year plan for the PlayStation 3
which was officially released in Japan back in 2006, so if they stuck
to their 10 year plan, we possibly wouldn’t see the PS4 launch until
2016.

The 1982 Lockheed Sea Shadow may be rusting away in Suisun Bay, but its
Commie-spooking contours haven't been forgotten. They apparently
inspired the design of the Asus G74SX-A1, which just won a HotHardware
recommendation for its cheese-eschewing looks as well as its
performance, efficient cooling and realistic $1749 price tag. For once,
the Core i7-2360QM CPU coupled with a GeForce GTX 560M and generous 12GB
dollop of DDR-1333 RAM actually conspired to surpass the
manufacturer's 3DMark benchmark claims.
It wasn't flawless though:
overall computing performance was middling compared to rivals; the
speakers were shoddy when it came to producing music rather than
explosions; and the 17.3-inch Full HD display was slightly wasted on
some games that only ran smoothly with high quality settings at
1280x720. Still, all t

"Publishers are getting the living crap kicked out of them by
Microsoft.” We don’t do pull quotes, but that one kind of makes us wish
we did. It belongs to Sony’s Rob Dyer, talking about Microsoft’s newly
revealed and what you might call anti-competitive publishing practices.
"Titles for Xbox 360 must ship at least simultaneously with other
video game platform, and must have at least feature and content parity
on-disc with the other video game platform versions in all regions where
the title is available. If these conditions are not met, Microsoft
reserves the right to not allow the content to be released on Xbox 360,”
reads Microsoft’s Content Submission and Release Policy.
"I think what Chris and the other representatives at Microsoft are
doing is protecting an inferior technology,” he went on to say. "I think
they want

Rockstar Games releases two new screenshots
for its upcoming third-person shooter, Max Payne 3, though the game
continues to lack an official release date.
Rockstar Games released a couple of new screens today for Max Payne 3,
which you can check out above and below. The images don’t bring any
great revelations about the game, but they do demonstrate just how
beautiful games can look with Rockstar’s RAGE engine.
Max Payne 3 picks up roughly a decade after the events of the
previous game. The titular modern-day gunslinger has left his job as a
New York City cop and gone off to Sao Paolo, Brazil, where he’s landed
himself in some trouble. He’s a private security guy now, working for a
wealthy local family, when he suddenly finds himself double-crossed and
on the run. You can bet that Max’s trusty guns will be fired at least a
few times in his search for th
