Since Google released their new Google Glasses eyewear to more user
via their Google Glasses Explorer program more and more information is
coming to light regards Google Glasses capabilities and specifications.
Now details have been released confining that Google Glasses will
come supplied with GPS support and the ability to send text messages
without the need for any companion applications.
The supported GPS within Google Glasses will be able to provide users
with turn-by-turn directions. Currently on the Google Glasses Explorer
editions users need to install both standalone GPS and messaging
applications for this functionality. Tech crunch explains:
"While Glass will happily work with any iPhone over Bluetooth or
use any Wi-Fi connection to get online, iPhone users are currently
unable to get turn-by-turn directions through Glass – one of its killer
features.”
To re-cap Google Glasses will be equipped with Bluetooth and Wifi
802.11b/g connectivity, and 12 GB of usable memory, synced with Google
cloud storage, from a total of 16 GB Flash.
Google Glasses eyewear are also fitted with a high resolution
display offering users the equivalent of viewing a 25 inch high
definition screen from 8ft away. MyGlass the Google Glasses mobile app
is now available to download from the Google Play Store for free, Google
explains:
"MyGlass allows you to configure and manage your Google Glasses
device. : If you don’t have Glass, then downloading this will be a waste
of time. Sorry about that. But if you swipe the screenshots to the
right you’ll see there’s a picture of a puppy in pajamas. So not a total
waste of time after all.”
The camera on the new Google Glasses eyewear is a 5 megapixel and has
been designed to capture 720p footage, with audio provided to the users
using Bone Conduction Transducer technology, that sends the sounds to
the inner ear through the bones of your skull.
When Google starts shipping their new Google Glasses eyewear it will
come with a microUSB cable and charger, a pouch and an attachable shade
and clear lens.
