A number of manufacturers have been releasing Android smartphones with high resolution displays, and now it looks like Pantech is working on a new HD android handset.
Some details have been leaked of a new Pantech Vega Android handset
with a full HD display which features a resolution of 1920 x 1080
pixels, the device will apparently will be called the Pantech Vega
IM-A860.
As well as a full HD display, this new Pantech Vega Android device
will feature a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, clocked at 1.5GHz,
plus 2GB of RAM and it will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Those are the only specifications we know at the moment, as soon as
we get some more information, plus some actual pictures of the device we

Over the weekend it was rumoured that Twitter might be preparing to
launch new photo filters for its Twitter Android and iOS applications,
well without much of a delay its now been confirmed.
As Twitter has today rolled out new updates to its iOS and Android
applications adding new filters and enhancements to images, to compete
with the likes of Instagram. Watch the video after the jump to see the
new photo filters in action.
Interestingly only yesterday it was confirmed that Instagram
had removed support to publish photos and images to Twitter, removing
any images already published and replacing them with a simple link.

Microsoft has released a new software update to Windows Phone 8 on
HTC’s Windows Phone 8X smartphone, and the update brings a couple of bug
fixes as well as some new features to the HTC 8X.
The update is designed to fix the WiFi issue that we heard about
previously on the HTC Windows Phone 8X, plus three new features, which
include the ability to reject calls with an SMS.
There is now also an SMS drafts feature and the ability to delete all
of your SMS at the same time instead of having to delete each one
individually. The update is apparently available for the HTC Windows
Phone 8X, there are no details on when it will land on other Windows
Phone 8 handsets.

A new biometric security technology
has been unveiled called Pipa Touch, which has been designed to enable

We heard rumors previously that Samsung are working on their next Galaxy S
smartphone, which is expected to launch some time early next year, and
now according to the guys over at Sammobile, Samsung will be launching
the new Galaxy S IV in April of 2013.
The Samsung Galaxy S
IV is rumored to feature a 5 inch AMOLED display with a full HD
resoluti0n of 1920 x 1080 pixels, plus a quad core processor and the
latest version of Google’s Android OS.
Samsung are also apparently working on a new version of their Galaxy
Note II smartphone, which will feature lower specifications than the
existing model, and obviously retails for less than the current Galaxy
Note II.

Yesterday we heard that Verizon were going to be releasing the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Droid RAZR HD and the Droid RAZR Maxx HD some time this week, and now it would appear that the updates have started rolling out.
According to the guys over at Engadget, a number of owners of both
devices have reported receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update,
although it seems it is been rolled out in stages.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update brings a number of new features to both devices, which include voice search,
updated notifications, Google Now and more. If you have received the
Android 4.1 Jelly Bea update for the Droid RAZR HD or Droid RAZR Maxx,

Samsung has been rolling out the android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update
recently, and now owners on the handset on US mobile carrier AT&T
can get their hands on the Android 4.1.1 update for their device.
The Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S III
is available through Samsung’s KIES software updating tool, and it also
comes with the latest version of Samsung’s custom TouchWiz UI.
Sprint and T-Mobile have previously released the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III
on their networks, and now with the AT&T version available that
means there is just one US carrier who is yet to release the update, Verizon Wireless. lets hope Verizon users do not have to wait too long to get their hands on the Android 4.1.1. update.

It would appear that Sony may have some good news for owners of its Xperia Android smartphones before Christmas, as Sony will be announcing their Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update schedule around the middle of Dece,ber.
The news comes from Sony’s official Twitter account, who posted the
new in response to a question for an Xperia smartphone owner, you can
see the tweet below.

We should have full details later this month on when Sony intends to release the Android
4.1 Jelly Bean update, the list of devices will include handsets like

The Samsung Galaxy Note II landed on Verizon Wireless last week, and now it would appear that the handset has already been rooted by the guys from the XDA Developers forum.
The Samsung Galaxy Note comes with the latest version of Google’s
Android OS, Android 4.1 Jelly bean and the handset features 5.5 inch HD
Super AMOLED multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
Other specifications on the Samsung Galaxy Note II include a quad core
1.6GHz processor, plus a choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage,
the device also comes with a microSD card slot and a front facing 1.9 megapixel camera and a rear 8 megapixel camera.

HTC Windows Phone 8S Not Coming To The USWhen HTC announced its new Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the HTC
Windows Phone 8X and the HTC Windows Phone 8S, we thought that both
handset would be available in the US as well as Europe.
Now it would appear that HTC does not plan to launch the cheaper HTC
Windows Phone 8S in the US, you can see an official statement from HTC
below.
"The Windows Phone 8X by HTC is our signature Windows Phone available at AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless
in the U.S. With our focus on the Windows Phone 8X by HTC, the Windows
Phone 8S is not currently planned for distribution in the U.S. market.”
