It would appear that Samsung and Verizon are getting ready to launch a new Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Samsung Ativ Odyssey, which you can see in the photo below that was leaked by @evleaks.


The Samsung ATIV Odyssey is rumored tpo feature a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the device is expected to feature a dual core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and an Adreno 225 GPU.

Other rumored specifications on the Samsung ATIV Odyssey include 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage, the device is also expected to feature an 8 megapixel camera on the back which can record full HD video in 1080p.

We just got an email from the guys over at Unlocked Mobiles, to let us know that they are now shipping the SIM free version of the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, and the handset is available in the UK from today.


The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini features a 4 inch WVGA Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, it is powered by a dual core 1GHz processor and comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Other specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini include include a 5 megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and auto focus, plus a front facing VGA camera for video chat, and it comes with either 8GB of built in storage or 16GB of built in storage, there is also a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB cards.

t looks like two of the new Windows Phone 8 smartphones are headed to Verizon Wireless on the 13th of November, the new Nokia Lumia 822, which is Verizon’s version of the Nokia Lumia 820 and also the new HTC Windows Phone 8X.


The HTC Windows Phone 8X will retail for $199 when  you take out a new two year contract with Verizon Wirless, and it will also be available off contract for $549.

It would appear that the new Nokia Lumia 822 will retail for $99 on Verizon Wireless, this price assumes that you take out a new two year contract with the carrier, you can find out more details on both devices over at Verizon.

As well as announcing their high end HTC Windows Phone 8X, HTC also announced a budget Windows Phone 8 smartphone a while back, and now it would appear that the new HTC Windows Phone 8S is getting ready to launch in the US, as the device has appeared at the FCC.

The HTC Windows Phone 8S has turned up at the FCC with support for both AT&T and T-Mobile HSPA bands, so it looks like the device will be headed to the US shortly.

The HTC 8S is powered by a dual core Qualcomm S4 1GHz processor and it comes with 16GB of storage, and a microSD card slot , plus 512MB of RAM.

Other specifications on the HTC 8S include a 5 megapixel rear facing camera for photos and video which features and led flash and auto-focus and can record HD video in 720.

Sony has announced a new software update for a couple of its Xperia smartphones, the Sony Xperia T and Sony Xperia TX, and both devices will now get the Android 4.0.4 ice Cream Sandwich update.

Sony has said that the software updates for both devices will start this week, and will be rolled out globally, although they have said that the availability for the updates will vary my market and carrier.

After announcing the delay of the mass production of their flexible AMOLED screens, Samsung has released a new video providing a quick glimpse into their concepts and ideas for uses using the new flexible and transparent displays.



The video after the break shows the new screens being used in everything from watches to transparent touchscreens within the workplace.

With the technology even capable of replacing the tablets of today in the near future.

Even though we would all be delighted to see this technology land in high street stores very soon, but it thought that the mass rollout of the technology into everyday life is still around five to ten years away.

Earlier today we heard that the new Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 smartphone will be available from AT&T, this Friday the 9th of November, the device will retail for $99.99 when you sign up to a new two year contract with AT&T.

AT&T will also be offering the Nokia Lumia 920 contract free, which means if you have an existing contract, you can buy the device, although the contract free pricing is quite a bit more at $449.99.

The Nokia Lumia 920 comes with Windows Phone 8 and features a 4.5 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, processing is provided by a dual core Snapdragon S4 processor.

Other specifications on the Nokia Lumia 920 include an 8.7 megapixel rear facing camera with a Carl Zeiss Lens and there is also a front facing 1.2 megapixel camera for video chat.

Some of our readers will remember the LG Viper 4G LTE that launched on Sprint back in April, the handset originally came with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, if you own one, there is some good news as Sprint is releasing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the LG Viper.

The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the LG Viper is being rolled out it batches and should be available for all users within the next two weeks, there are no details on what devices will get it first.

You should receive a notification on your LG Viper when the update is available for your device, it will be available as an OTA update, if you have received the update on your handset leave a comment and let us know.

Microsoft’s new range of Windows Phone 8 smartphones will land on US mobile carrier AT&T this Friday the 9th of November, and all devices will be available to pre-order from AT&T from today.

The new Windows Phone 8 devices which are headed to AT&T on Friday include the HTC Windows Phone 8 X which will be available for $99.99 for the 8GB model and $199.99 for the 16GB model when you take out a new two year contract with AT&T.

Nokia’s new Windows Phone 8 devices will also be available on Friday, the Nokia Lumia 820 will retail for $49.99 when you take out a new two year contract with the carrier and the Nokia Lumia 920 will retail for $99.99, this is also with a new two year contract.

Motorola, which is now owned by Google, launched the Atrix HD smartphone back in July, and now Motorola has announced a new version of the smartphone, which is designed specifically for developers, the Motorola Atrix HD Developer Edition.

The Motorola Atrix HD Developer Edition shares the same specifications as the original device, although it comes with an unlocked bootloader, which will allow developers to create custom ROMs on the device.

We’re happy to announce that the MOTOROLA ATRIX™ HD will be available in a Developer Edition and also be a supported device in the Bootloader Unlock program. It has the same features and specs as the regular MOTOROLA ATRIX HD, but allows the infinite customization possibilities offered by an unlockable bootloader.  Unlocking a bootloader isn’t for everyone, but for some, it’s a must-have.
