Interaction artist Viktor Jan has created a unique way to create music, transforming a cooking pot into a Midi DJ interface, using a little Arduino magic.
When electrified objects go into the cooking pot, they send current
through the pot to an onboard Arduino, which then creates tones and
beats for that object, that can be further manipulated using the extra
dials and knobs on the side. Watch the video after the jump to learn

Back at the beginning of this month Microsoft announced that its
would be replacing its Messenger service with Skype on March 15th 2013.
Now it looks like Microsoft has similar plans for replacing Xbox Live with Skype.
Sources close to the Microsoft have informed the CVG gaming website of the news explaining that Microsoft is looking to "consolidating all their communications technology”.
Micrsooft purchased Skype back in 2011
for a massive $8.5 billion, making it the largest acquisition by

We have featured a number of different electric powered cars here at
Geeky Gadgets, but is think this may be the first electric powered car
ferry, which has been developed by Seimens and Norwegian shipyard
Fjellstrand.
The electric powered car ferry will measure 80 meters long and will
be capable of carrying up to 120 cars and 360 passengers, and will start
carrying passengers in 2015.
The ferry will be powered by batteries, which will be recharged in
breaks between crossings, and will apparently take just 10 minutes to
recharge the ferry ready for its next journey.
Samsung recently released the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
update for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 in Europe, and
now they have also released the update for owners of both devices in the
US.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is now available for the Galaxy Tab
2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 in the US, and it brings a range of new
features to both tablets including Google Now.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update should be available for both
devices as of now, you can check to see if it is available via the
settings menu on your device.
In addition tom their Xi3 Piston Steam mini PC
unveiled at CES last week, Xi3 has also taken the wraps of its new Xi3
Z3RO Pro Mini PC, which has been designed to change the face of desktop
computing.
The latest Xi3 Z3RO Pro Mini PC is equipped with a 64-bit, x86-based
dual-core processor running at 1.65GHz (with 2MB of Level2 Cache),
supported by 4GB of DDR3 RAM.
The Xi3 Z3RO Pro Mini PC can also be fitted with 16GB to 1TB of internal solid state disk

22 year old Kaleb Lechowski has created an awesome short movie called
R’ha which he created over 7 month s of hard work, and features
an intense interrogation of an alien prisoner of war.
The short movie trailer has caught the attention of a few movie
company execs, and Kaleb will shortly making his way to Hollywood later
this month. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.
German director Kaleb Lechowski wrote
and created the movie on his own and used the skills of Hartmut Zeller
for sound, Dave Masterson for the Voice acting.
US mobile carrier AT&T has announced the availability of the
Lenovo Idea Tab A2107 on their network, the device is available for $99
with a data contract with AT&T or for $199 without a contract.
The Lenovo Idea Tab A2107 features a 7 inch display with a resolution
of 1024 x 600 pixels and processing is provided by a dual core Cortex
A9 processor, there is also 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of built in storage.
Other specifications include a microSD card slot,
WiFi, Bluetooth and dual cameras, up front we have a VGA camera for
video chat and on the back there is a three megapixel camera for photos
and video.
If you are in the market for a 3D projector you might be interested to learn that BenQ has unveiled two new additions to its range of projectors at CES last week, in the form of the W1070 and W1080ST.
BenQ’s new projectors start $1,099 for the W1070 which provides full
HD 1080p 3D projection using the high-end DLP Dark Chip 3
(DC3)technology, which is typically reserved for higher-priced models.
Where as the BenQ W1080ST projector has been designed to provide a
short-throw full HD1080p 3D home projector for only $1,299, allowing
users to benefit for large screen experiences even in smaller

We have bean hearing about Asus’s MeMo Pad Android tablet for quite some time now, Asus has now officially announced the Memo Pad and it will be available later this month for $149.99.
The Asus MeMo Pad will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and it
features a 1GHZ VIA WM8950 processor and a Mali-400 GPU, plus a 7 inch
display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels.
Other specifications on the Asus Memo Pad include 16GB of built in
storage plus a microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB cards, there
is also a front facing 1MP back illuminated camera with an f/2.0 lens
which can capture HD video in 720p at 30 frames per second.
The Asus Memo Pad will be available in a range of colors later this month and will retail for $150.
