HTC has been producing some great Android smartphones, and their
latest flagship model is the HTC Sensation, which comes with a range of
impressive specifications, we recently showed you some hands on photos
of the new HTC Sensation, and have been testing it out over the last 10
days, so its time to let you guys know what we thought about the HTC
Sensation.
The first thing you notice about the HTC Sensation is the size of the
device, it features a large 4.3 inch qHD display. so the handset has a
similar size to the Samsung Galaxy S II we reviewed recently and also features very similar specifications.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is Sony’s latest Android smartphone in
their Xperia range, it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and it
features a 4.2 inch touchscreen LED backlit LCD display.
Processing is provided by a 1GHz processor and there is also an 8
megapixel camera and 512MB of RAM, it quite light for a smartphone of
this sizes, weighing in at 117g, making it just 1 gram heavier than the
new Samsung Galaxy S II.

We have featured a few strange creations using the Apple iPad here at Geeky Gadgets,
the latest one is the work of Thinkmodo who have created the iPad Head
Girl in an attempt to get people interested in the new Cosmo for guys
magazine.
In the video below you will see a young woman walking around a New
York park with four iPads attached to her head, this is definitely one
of the strangest uses of the iPad we have seen.
Layar the largest of the mobile augmented reality platforms has today
announced the launch of its new Layar Vision Extension, that allows
its applications to now recognise real world objects and place augmented
reality information on top of them.
The new Layar Vision extension uses detection, tracking and computer
vision techniques to augment objects in the
physical world. Recognising
which objects in the real world are augmented via the visual
fingerprints of the objects,
which are preloaded into the application

We got our hands on the new LG Optimus Black last week, which is LG’s
latest Android smartphone, and we have been testing it out over the
weekend, so we thought it was about time to let you guys know what we
thought of the LG Optimus Black.
The LG Optimus Black is an Android 2.2 device, it comes with Android
2.2.2 out of the box, although LG have said that they intend to updated
it to 2.3 shortly after release. The Optimus Black is due to launch in
the UK and Europe later this month and it is scheduled to launch in the
US next month.

Google’s Android OS has become incredibly popular amongst smartphone
users, and now according to a new report from research firm Canalys,
Google’s Android OS is getting close to a market share of 50 percent of
smartphones worldwide fir quarter two of 2011.
According to the report which tracked 56 countries around the world,
Google’s Android has in the lead in 35 of those countries with an
overall share of 48 percent of the worldwide smartphone market.
Android, the number one platform by shipments since Q4 2010, was
also the strongest growth driver this quarter, with Android-based smart
phone shipments up 379% over a year ago to 51.9 million units. Growth

We have already seen a few photos of Nokia’s Symbian Belle,
which is expected to be released after the Symbian Anna update, and now
we have a video which shows Symbian Belle running on a Nokia N8.
The video was put together by Danyal Gerad,
and it is around 8 minutes long so we get a good look at the user
interface as well as some of the new features that will be available in
Symbian Belle.
Fancy your own real mechanical exoskeleton suit? The next generation
XOS 2 Exoskeleton has been unveiled and is lighter and stronger than its

The suit is fitted with sensors that track
the users movements providing extra support and strength when required.
Using XOS the user can run, walk, cope with stairs and ramps and move
heavy objects.
The XOS 2 Exoskeleton has been designed to help the military move ammunition and supplies easily in the field.
Some of our readers will remember the Sarcos XOS 2 Exoskeleton suit
that we featured on the site last year, the manufacturers of the suit
have now said that they should be putting it into production within the
next five years.

video the suit has improved since the last time we saw it.
Nokia has added another smartphone to its range with the launch of
the Nokia 500, and it will come with Symbian Anna and features a 3.2
inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 640 x 360
pixels.
The Nokia 500 features a 1GHz processor and a five megapixel camera
on the back, plus 2GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot
which can take up to 32GB cards.
The Nokia 500 comes with the latest Symbian Anna OS, offering a
refreshed UI, a better browser and split-screen messaging. As you’d

ooks like the whole PSN hacking incident has been a transformative
experience for Sony, slowly drawing out its more charitable side. Either
that, or it’s found a fairly cheap way of banging out the dents in its
PR, but for whatever reason one grateful indie developer is reaping the
benefits.
