Sony has announced the Android Open Source Project (ASOP) for its latest high end Android smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z, which means that the software for the handset will be open to developers.
For the AOSP on Xperia™ Z project to run, we are also providing
some binaries here on Developer World. Binaries are for example hardware
drivers that are specific for a certain chipset. Since some of the
binaries are proprietary files provided by Qualcomm, you can download
Xperia Z binaries after accepting an end-user license agreement that
states how the files can be used and what limitations that exist.
Remember that the software is not intended for everyday use, and it does
not include some apps and services that are part of standard phone software.

bandwidth grabbing online video games, you may be in the market for a
better performing router. A company called Edimax

for your computer that promises three times the bandwidth of 802.11n wireless devices.
Whereas current 802.11n wireless networks max out at 300 Mbps, the

easier this summer with the release their voice search feature for their

DirecTV’s voice search function is a step above the DVR’s ability to
search for content on the service. Now you can just talk into your
smartphone to find what you want to watch instead of typing text. The
feature can recognize natural language commands instead of specific cue
phrases, which works much better.
You can search for on-demand, pay-per-view and upcoming content while
also filtering the results based on the actors, title and other
variables. DirecTV users will love this.
