Huawei recently announced their latest Android smartphone, the Huawei Ascend P1, and now according to a recent report the company may be about to release an LTE enable version of the P1 along with a larger capacity battery.


The new comes from the guys over at Blog of Mobile who have managed to get their hands on a leaked image of the new LTE enabled P1, which you can see in the second photograph[h below, the first photo is of the Huawei P1 that was announced recently.

We have featured a number of new technologies here  started to incorporate transparent displays, Such as the Samsung Smart Window. Now designers Shaocheng Huang & Yuyin Huang have imagined what it would be like to have a transparent screen on your smartphone.



Then you concept smartphone called the Brick, is equipped with a large transparent screen which can be used for a number of different applications. Including being able to translate or magnify text. Samsung has launched a HD version of their Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone in other countries around the world, we are yet to see one launch here in the UK although that may be about to change.


One online retailer, MobiCity has a listing on their website for a Samsung Galaxy S II HD, it looks like the listing has now been removed, but you can see the second photo below which was taken from their website by the guys from MoDaCo.

Google is currently testing a new login feature for their Gmail users which now allows you to login to your Gmail account using a QR code rather than typing in your username and password.


The new logging feature is currently being tested by Google to make their Gmail service more secure for users who need to login to their mail account via public or potentially insecure Wi-Fi networks. The use of a QR code is hoped to help keep your login details safe from possible malicious hackers who could use it to access your account using key logging software that will record what you type while on public networks.

It looks like CyanogenMod 9 will bring a new music app to Android devices when it is released, and it comes with some interesting features which include motion controls for music playback as well as gesture controls.

It looks like owners of Google’s flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are experiencing another problem with their new Android Ice Cream Sandwich device.

There have been a number of reports of a bug that causes the Samsung Galaxy Nexus to randomly reboot and the problem appears to be happening to owners of both the GSM version and the LTE version of the Galaxy Nexus.

Microsoft has announced that it will be bringing a range of new games to its Window Phone platform, plus a range of games in conjunction with both Electronic Arts and Nokia and the games are expected to be available in February.

Some of the titles announced for Windows Phone include Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction and Toy Soldiers: Boot Camp.


As well as these games for Windows Phone devices, Nokia has teamed up with Electronic Arts and they will be bringing over 20 of the worlds most popular games to Windows Phone devices.

With Verizon about to launch the new Motorola Droid 4, they have decided to drop the price of the Motorola Droid 3 before the new model goes on sale, and the device can now be had for $99 when you sign up to a new two year contract with Verizon.

As a reminder the Motorola Droid 3, which originally went on sale last June comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it features a 4 inch qHD touchscreen display.

Samsung has launched a new version if its massively popular Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone for Japan, the Samsung Galaxy S II WiMax which will be available with Japan’s KDDI au.

The new Samsung Galaxy S II WiMAX comes with new specifications over the original Galaxy S II handset, and it features a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED HD display.


The 4.7 inch Super AMOLED HD display has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which means it is capable of displaying HD video and content in 720p.
