Vision Research have created a new high speed video camera called
the Phantom v1610 which they have just added to their range, that is
capable of recording up to 1 million frames a second.
You will need to tweak a few settings on the camera and also drop the cameras
resolution right down to 128 x 16. But even at a respectable HD
resolution of 1280 x 800 the Phantom v1610 can still capture 16,000
frame per second.
The Phantom v1610 high speed camera is fitted with Vision Research’s proprietary widescreen CMOS sensor which has been custom designed and includes 28 micron pixels, ensuring its light-sensitivity is superb.
Connections on the back of the camera include 2 x HD-SDI ports which
can be configured in a number of different ways, timecode, dual power
inputs, a GPS input, frame synchronisation and trigger.
"They can act as identical 4:2:2 HD-SDI ports where one port can
be set up to provide an (optional) on-screen display for monitoring the
on-camera controls and camera operation. They can also be configured as a single 4:4:4 Dual-Link HD-SDI port.”
