With the arrival of Windows 8, the PC industry
is using the excuse to flood the market with tons of new options. Take
Acer’s new lineup of low-end desktops for the casual user. They are a
bit unusual. These ME micro towers have an Intel Core i5
or I7, 2TB HDDs and up to 16GB of RAM. The chassis comes with a recess
desk on top with a USB port for easy charging of your smartphone.
You can also pick up an XC desktop, which is a space-saving unit that features an Intel Core i3, a 1TB HDD and up to 6GB of RAM. Sound
good? Prices for the ME begin at $700, while the cheaper XCs will set
you back just $400. Not the most powerful options we’ve seen, but hey,
Windows 8 made this happen. Source Engadget |
