Intel has announced the launch of the new SSD
that it says is being aimed at the entry-level DIY user looking to
replace a traditional hard drive. The SSD is available in 240 GB
capacity alone and uses a 6Gb/s SATA connection. The drive is a traditional 2.5-inch form factor that is 9.5 mm thick.
The drive promises decent performance from Intel’s first 20 nm NAND flash SSD. The drive is rated for up to 42,000 IOPS
in 4kb reads and 52000 IOPS for writes. The drive also has 500 MB per
second sequential reads and 450 MB per second sequential writes.
While
Intel is bragging about a consumer friendly price for the SSD, its
official pricing is unknown. The drive will be available in retail
stores and online globally as of today.
Google recently announced a range of new devices which include the new Google Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and the update Nexus 7 tablet, all of these devices come with a new version of Android which has a range of new features, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
One of the major new features in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is called Photo Sphere, and it basically lets you use your devices camera to take photos in any direction and then merge the photos together to form a larger photo.

Sphere will work on your Android 4.2 enabled device, have a look at it

Nokia’s new Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Nokia Lumia
920 has launched on Canada’s Rogers, and the handset is available for
$100 when you sign up to a new three year contract with Rogers.
The
Nokia Lumia 920 comes with Windows Phone 8 and features a 4.5 inch HD
display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, processing is provided
by a dual core Snapdragon S4 processor.
Other
specifications on the Nokia Lumia 920 include an 8.7 megapixel rear
facing camera with a Carl Zeiss Lens and there is also a front facing 1.2 megapixel camera for video chat.

Samsung recently launch their new 5.5 inch Galaxy Note
II smartphone, they also have a 10.1 inch Galaxy Note in their line up
and now it would appear that Samsung are working on a new Galaxy Note
device which will feature a display of between 7 inches and 9 inches.
The guys over at Sammobile have discovered a new Samsung Galaxy
note device with the model number GT-N5100 which has just received DLNA
certification, and it is rumored to come with a HD display and the same
processor that is in the Samsung Galaxy S III.
This
new Samsung Galaxy Note device is rumored to feature Samsung’s EXYNOS
4412 processor, clocked at 1.6GHz, unfortunately those are the only
details that are available at the moment, as soon as we get some more
information we will let you guys know.
Yesterday Microsoft launched the latest version of their mobile OS,
Windows Phone 8, and now they have released a video which shows off
many of the new features that are available in Windows Phone 8.
The video below shows off a lot of the new features in Windows Phone 8 and also compares it to other mobile operating systems, like Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android OS.
It
will be interesting to see if Windows Phone 8 is able to make Windows
Phone devices as popular as Apple’s iOS smartphones and Google’s Android

One of the new features in Windows Phone 8 is the ability to share
things with other devices using NFC, and now we have a video of Windows
Phone 8 sharing in action with an Android smartphone.
The video below was put together by the guys over at Android Central
and it shows how things can be shared between a new HTC Windows Phone 8x
and a Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Not everything can be shared between the two platforms at the moment,
so basically you would not be able to share a file or a photo between
Windows Phone 8 and Android.
HTC and Microsoft have announced that HTC’s new Windows Phone 8
smartphones will be available in the UK from this Friday the 2nd of
November, and the devices include the new HTC Windows Phone 8X and the HTC Windows Phone 8S.

Last week s well as announcing the new iPad
Mini, Apple also updated their iPad to a fourth generation model which
comes with some improvements over the third generation model, including a
new processor and a lightning dock connector.
Now some benchmarks from Geekbench, of the new iPad
4 have revealed that it features a dual core Apple A6 processor clocked
at 1.4GHz, which is faster than the one used in Apple’s new iPhone 5.
The benchmarks have also revealed that the new iPad
4 comes with 1GB of RAM, have a look at the benchmark below which
compares the iPad 4 to the iPhone 5 and also the iPad 3, it looks like
it is faster than both the iPhone 5 and also the iPad 3.
Google recently announced their new larger Nexus 10 tablet, and now
we have full specifications on the new Nexus 10, which include a 10.055
inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels at 300 pixels per
inch.
The display on the Google Nexus 10 features Corning Gorilla Glass 2,
and processing is provided by a dual core A15 processor and the device
features a Mali T604 GPU.
The Google Nexus 10 measures 263.9 mm by 177.6 mm by 8.9mm thick, and
it weighs in at just 603g, it also comes with the latest version of

Google
has now released some details of what is new in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean,
which includes a new camera feature called Photo Sphere that lets you
snap photos in any direction and then join the photos together.
Google
has also updated the keyboard in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with new
gesture typing, and another new feature is multiple users for tablets,
allowing you to setup your tablet for individual users with different
apps, home screen, widgets and more for each users.

We have been hearing rumors for a while that Google would launch a 32GB model of their Nexus 7 tablet, the device is now official, and they have also announced a 32GB Nexus 7 HSPA+ model.
There are now three different models of the Google Nexus
7 to choose from a 16GB WiFi only model which retails for $199, a 32GB
WiFi only Nexus 7 which will retail for $249 and a 32GB WiFi and HSPA+
model which will retail for $299.
The
32GB WiFi+ HSPA Nexus 7 tablet is unlocked, which means that you can
use the device with any mobile provider, and the new models will go on
sale in the US, Canada, UK, Spain, Australia, France, Germany and Japan
on the 13th of November.

As well as announcing the new Nexus 10 tablet Google
has also announced their latest Nexus smartphone the Nexus 4, which was
developed by LG for Google and it comes with a new version of Android,
version 4.2 Jelly Bean.
We
have been hearing rumors about the Google Nexus 4 for the last few
weeks, and now we have confirmation of the devices specifications which
include a 4.7 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels and
320ppi.
The
Google Nexus 4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 pro processor
clocked at 1.5GHz, it also feature 2GB of RAM and a choice of either 8GB
or 16GB of storage, there is no microSD card slot.

EE which is a partnership between mobile carriers Orange and T-Mobile
has launched the UK’s first 4G LTE mobile network in the UK today, the service launches in eleven cities around the UK.
The
eleven cities where EE’2 4G LTE is available include Cardiff, Bristol,
Birmingham, London, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool,
Southampton and Sheffield.
EE
have also re-branded a number of their existing stores across the UK
and there are now more than 700 EE stores around the UK, and their CEO
had the following to say about the launch.
