It looks like Google is getting ready to release a new version of their Google Wallet payment system, as their website now has a message which says that ‘The next version of Google Wallet is coming soon’, and you can sign up for an invite on Google’s website.

According to Business Insider, when they signed up to receive details of the new version of Google Wallet, they were asked which smartphone they had, in the form of Android, iPhone or other.

This could suggest that Google intends to expand their Google Wallet payment system beyond their Android platform to other platforms like Apple’s iOS and possibly others.

Of course Google has yet to confirm what new features will be available in the next version of Google Wallet and they have also not released any information that the service will be available on other platforms apart from Android.
