id Software has this week announced that they have now released the Doom BFG 3 source code, which contains contains only the games source, without any game data or assets, which are still covered by the original EULA.

As well as the release of the games source code id Software has also released a new patch for the game which brings with it a number of new features including anti-aliasing up to 16x on Nvidia hardware, but the AMD/Intel cap is at 8x.

Gamers patiently waiting for the highly anticipated release of the new Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition for PC will be pleased to learn theta the game is launching today and will be available to play from 8pm UK time (1pm MST).

Unfortunately those of you waiting for either the Mac, iPad or Android versions of the game will have to wait a little while longer. With the iPad version of the game expected to arrive in around a week.

The iPad version of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition was rejected by Apple after a crash bug was found in the Legacy code. Trent Oster explained:

After securing a healthy $2.4 million in funding the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset team has been busy creating the developer kits for their new device, which is hoped will take gaming to the next level of interaction.

To re-cap the new Oculus Rift virtual reality headset has been designed specifically for video games and provides players with a wide field of view, high resolution display, and ultra-low latency head tracking.

The Oculus Rift virtual reality headset began its journey on Kickstarter back in August, and has this week announced that developers can expect to start receiving their Oculus Rift development kits in March 2013.
